Rianne Graves led the MPI sixth grade in this hula performance Tuesday, Dec. 12. in Bakken Auditorium. The title of this mele is Kawika, dedicated to King David Kalakaua. Said Graves, “this dance involved 100 sixth graders, many with no previous hula experience, so this was an accomplishment for them, indeed!"

Mid-Pacific President Joe C. Rice invited MPI preschoolers and parents to his home Tuesday, Dec. 12, for a Christmas story and snack!

Mid-Pacific's Reese Haine was named the Interscholastic League of Honolulu's Division II Player of the Year. The 6-foot-2 outside hitter helped MPI secure a second straight state tournament spot.
Haine, who comes from a well known volleyball family, did not play the sport at this level until his sophomore season two years ago. His late grandfather, Tom, was the 1968 U.S. Olympic Team captain and Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee. Clay Stanley, Reese's brother, is a U.S. National Team member.
Joining Haine on the first team was Jaren Mauricio. MPI players that made the second team include Tyler Doo and Scott Cummings. Blake Hixon was named honorable mention.
On the girls team, Kylee Pedro was awarded Honorable Mention.

The MPI ohana enjoyed an evening of musical entertainment as the music department presented its winter concert Sunday, Dec. 3, in the McKinley High School Auditorium. The concert featured the concert band, symphonic band, combined orchestras, and the wind ensemble. Bravo!
