Mid-Pacific's Reese Haine was named the Interscholastic League of Honolulu's Division II Player of the Year. The 6-foot-2 outside hitter helped MPI secure a second straight state tournament spot.

Haine, who comes from a well known volleyball family, did not play the sport at this level until his sophomore season two years ago. His late grandfather, Tom, was the 1968 U.S. Olympic Team captain and Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee. Clay Stanley, Reese's brother, is a U.S. National Team member.

Joining Haine on the first team was Jaren Mauricio. MPI players that made the second team include Tyler Doo and Scott Cummings. Blake Hixon was named honorable mention.

On the girls team, Kylee Pedro was awarded Honorable Mention.
