USA Weekend Best High School Musical Contest

Fame the Musical, presented by Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts, was honored with a USA Weekend Best High School Music Runner Up Award. The show was submitted for consideration by Linda Johnson, director.

"I feel it a privilege to teach young people and to stretch them beyond their own expectations," Johnson said. "Being one of the winners in the USA Weekend Magazine national search for excellent high school musicals is an honor bestowed on our MPI students for all their great efforts and many hours of hard work in producing an excellent final product -- Fame, The Musical -- worthy of national praise. Bravo to the cast, crew and all the directors involved on this production."

"Eight gold stars and congratulations to you and your cast of FAME! How proud we are to be part of Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts. Warmest regards," proud parents Susan and George Buck.

"When I watched our students perform FAME, I thought I was watching a Broadway production," said High School Principal Rich Schaffer. "Linda Johnson, her student actors and her theater team
outdid themselves this time!"
