Derrick Kang comes to Manoa via Iolani School, where he served as upper school counselor. He is a graduate of Seattle University and the current president of the Hawaii Association of College Admission Counseling.

“I'm excited to join the Mid-Pacific family,” he said. “As the newest member of the college counseling team, I'm hoping to bring in new ideas and a fresh perspective. Along with my colleagues Mrs. McKay-Hines and Mrs. Haas, we will look forward to providing our students and families with college options, scholarships, and guidance. I'm looking forward to meeting our students and their families.”

Kang plans to use his more than 20 years of college counseling and counseling experience to assist families in navigating the college counseling journey. “There is a place for everyone and I hope to provide students with the tools to find the best fit for them.”
