A message from President Joe C. Rice

Joe Rice

Welcome to Mid-Pacific Institute, located in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. Stretching back more than 140 years, we began as a school serving the children of missionaries and today provide a private, independent coeducational college preparatory education to Preschool through 12th grade students. In today's competitive world, there is a demonstrated need for the high-quality educational program offered at Mid-Pacific. We give young people the academic challenge and individual attention needed to reach beyond themselves and grow. Our programs are enriching and diverse. We address excellence through intellectual, social, cultural, spiritual, and physical achievement. The development of each student as an individual is enhanced by promoting curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for self and others.

At Mid-Pacific, students pursue a rigorous program in Math, Science, Humanities, Foreign Language, Arts, and Athletics. In addition to our core academic program, we have fully developed International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs. We also offer the Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts, which is the most fully developed pre-professional program of dance, music, theatre, visual arts, musical theatre, and media arts available in Hawaii and the South Pacific.

Mission Statement

Mid-Pacific Institute-- a preschool through high school, college-preparatory community founded on Christian values-- nurtures and challenges students to develop intellectual, emotional, artistic, spiritual and physical strengths to become compassionate and responsible lifelong learners and global citizens.
