First-Day Excitement
We’re off to a great start! It's wonderful to meet the first graders (photo on left) and welcome the second graders back to our classroom (photo on right). The energy and excitement of the children are contagious. With the summer stories, seeing friends after summer vacation, and all the promise and possibilities of a new school year, our day was filled with smiles! Since the children will be eating their morning snack at recess (either on the play structure or ballfield), please pack a simple, healthy snack so they can finish their food and have time to play. Our class also discussed some “ground rules” for our classroom. Their ideas on how to keep our classroom a safe and peaceful learning environment are fantastic!
Below is the Specials schedule. Please have your child wear covered shoes on PE days.
Tuesday - PE, Music
Wednesday - Character Education (CE)
Thursday - PE, Music
Friday - CE, Art
The MPI elementary website will be used on a weekly basis (if not more frequently) to keep you updated on classroom happenings and important events. It is IMPERATIVE that you check the website on a regular basis and read Ms. Hussey’s weekly letter (posted on Thursdays) as well as our classroom website. I suggest that you sign up for e-mail updates so you know when something new has been posted.
I will be scheduling Parent Intake Conferences with the first-grade parents. The details are explained in an accompanying note sent home with the first graders. Please return your time preference sheet for the conference by Wednesday, August 13. Second-grade parents, you are more than welcome to schedule a conference with me if you would like to do so.
