Math in 3/4H:
Our class is off to a busy start!
I can tell that most of the students kept up with their multiplication tables over the break -- good job!
As we discussed at parent/teacher conferences, the students have been introduced (for some review) to the process of division. One of the first lessons was the terminology used: divisor, dividend, quotient, and remainder. The students were asked to make up a song or poem about the terms to help them remember their meaning. We had a fun time creating, preparing, and presenting. To see their presentations, click on the images below. They are great!
SAT testing preparation has begun in all the 3/4 classes. Our class and Mrs. Fukumoto's will be switching every Tuesday and Thursday in order to review the workbook pages assigned for homework. These workbooks are used to teach the children the skills and formats used, as well as build self-confidence, in standardized test-taking. How can you help? Please encourage your child to do their very best on the assignments. If they are confused or have a question about a problem, please have them circle the problem and bring it to class the next day when it can be addressed and/or resolved.
If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
Thanks so much for your continued support and cooperation!
