I just wanted to say thank you to all of the parents for making the Big Island trip such a huge success. The students had a wonderful time on the trip and learned so much about the Hawaiian Islands. We have already begun listing all of our questions from our visit, and we will continue studying volcanoes when we return to school. Please check the gallery for pictures from the trip.
Today our study of volcanoes continued as we visited the Bishop Museum. The 3/4 classes spent the morning exploding their own mini-volcanoes, learning how an atoll is formed, exploring the new science center, and watching the stars at the planetarium show. Check out the gallery for snapshots of our day!
Tomorrow, students will receive a homework packet. This homework packet is not due until April 5. I am giving students homework that will be due after we get back to school just in case they want to get a jumpstart on their work. We will be heading back to Bishop Museum in mid-April to continue our research!
Just a reminder that tomorrow is MPI's annual Ho`olaule`a. It will be an afternoon full of food, fun, and being proud to attend MPI. Since there will be so many delicious-food booths tomorrow, school lunch will be cancelled. Students will receive their pre-ordered scrip before we walk down to the Ho`olaule`a. We will be walking down to the festivities at 11:30 a.m.
I hope everyone has a fun, safe, and relaxing Spring Break! See you in April!
