Homework sheet and spelling list for the week of April 9, 2007
This week we begin a new round of literature circles. The students have chosen books and split up into their literature circle groups. Today, each group created a reading schedule for their literature circle. These reading schedules will be passed out tomorrow. Students may use their literature circle books for their nightly reading, BUT they must still read for at least
25 - 30 minutes. If their literature circle reading does not take 25 - 30 minutes, students should read another book to fill up the time. Please do not have the students read ahead of schedule in their literature circle books. If students read ahead, their participation in literature circle discussion may be affected. (For example, if the students are predicting what will happen next in the book, a student who has read ahead will not be able to participate in that discussion.)

Spelling pattern
At the end of a word, a consonant followed by “le” rhymes with “skull.” This means that “tle” sounds like “tull,” and “cle” sounds like “cull.”
