The End-of-the-Summer is here!

It's hard to believe that the end of July is already here and that summer school is over. We've been so busy that time just flew by! This week we completed the final preparations for our end-of-the-summer pizza party. After taking a survey of what toppings to order on our pizza, cheese or pepperoni, we realized that it was a tie! We then needed to figure out how we were going to order our pizzas so that half of the total slices were cheese and half were pepperoni. We also needed to figure out the best way to slice our pizza after estimating how many guests would be attending.

Our party planning continued with the preparations of our own dishes. After completing graphs displaying the results of our surveys, we were able to decide what dishes we were going to make. We then had to measure out the ingredients to prepare our dishes. Our class is definitely filled with some future chefs!

In order to make our room look more party-friendly, we decided to decorate! We displayed much of the work we've done this year, and we also created some beautiful window art. Our window art displays intricate symmetrical patterns. Students were really able to show off their artistic abilities with this creative math project.

Overall, it's been a memorable summer filled with much fun and much learning. Thanks to all the students for working hard and to all the parents for supporting their child's learning. I hope that the rest of your summer is relaxing and enjoyable!
