B.M.:  "There were no trees, books, and lights.  They used flashlights."

B.W.:  "I think there was no swimming pools or bathrooms.  They had painted roads and had old, old cars."

C.L.:  "People had to walk to trees and pick berries.  The houses are made out of logs.  The toys were made out of trees."

C.H.:  "I think their houses were made out of trees.  Maybe the caveman ran and ran until they got there.  The wheels are made out of rocks."

K.Y.:  "I think they ran and exercised.  They cut stuff to make toys.  They slept outside.  They do competitions and gymastics.  After school they walk home."

K.P.:  "I think Manoa had sidewalks.  I think it was a relaxing place.  I think if they wanted fish they had to go fishing.  I think their clothes came from sheep."

K.O.:  "I think they did not have microwaves or doors. They had fences and rainbows."

K.T.S.:  "They read books and watched T.V.  They walked to school.  They had pets like cocker spaniels.  They do things on computers."

L.B.:  "There was a lot of buildings 100 years ago.  Manoa looked just like a mountain.  Lots of people, animals, and plants."

M.F.:  "I think that Manoa is the houses and cars and people and trees.  The people are sleeping.  The people sleep outside.  They camp outside and some people sleep in their houses."

M.H.:  "I think the houses are old.  I think they played with blocks.  They walked to work.  They walked to school."

S.D.:  "I think Manoa was old where people danced and they had to sew dresses.  Their houses were made out of hay and they slept in sleeping bags."

S.S.:  "I think they wore Hawaiian clothes.  I think there were rainbows and volcanoes.  There were no schools."

T.K.:  "I think their homes were made out of tree logs.  I think they had red, orange, yellow, and green crayons.  There were people."

T.P.T.:  "I don't think they had cars.  They walked to school.  They had old school."

T.M.:  "I think Manoa had no money.  I think Manoa had only two pairs of clothes.  I think Manoa had no food only a little bit.  Manoa picked oranges and salad from the trees.  I think Manoa had no shoes, only a little bit of shoes."

Z.J.:  "I think the people wore old clothes.  I think they had old slides.  They had old houses.  They had old trucks."

Gung Hay Fat Choy!  Thank you to the Chen family for inviting the Chinese lion dancers to scare away the evil spirits.  The Chinese lion dancers went into every classroom for good luck!

M.H.:  "Do ants have eight legs?"

K.Y.:  "How do grasshoppers get sharp claws?"

C.H.:  "How can butterflies get out of a cocoon?"

S.D.:  "Is a bug an insect?"

B.W.:  "How do insect lay eggs?"

T.P.T.:  "Why do insects lay eggs?"

C.L.:  "How come some insects are really really small?"

K.P.:  "Why do some insects fly and others do not fly?"

S.S.:  "How does a stag beetle move its jaws?"

Z.J.:  "How do bees make honey?"

K.O.:  "How do some insects sting?"

M.F.:  "How do bumblebees stick out their stinger?"
