On Monday, Brent Hunter, a UH tennis player, came to read to our class. We asked him what he wants to be when he grows up - he said he wouldn't mind being a teacher!

EC, SK, and KO took their journals up in the loft to write! We will be sending the journals home over the holidays, so that the children will be able to share their holidays when they get back.
BH, LY, RB, BM, and GA wanted to open the nuts we had displayed. Ms. Laura gave them a hammer and took them out back. This activity fosters positive social interactions such as cooperation, problem-solving, and communication.

The party planners constructed their unicorn pinata out of balloons and cardboard tubes. They started covering it with papier-mache. The party planners let other children help when the party planners got tired.

The children are thinking about snow! They made skis and ice skates out of the wooden blocks and slid around our classroom.

CL and the Hot Cocoa group are planning a hot chocolate and baked goods sale for the week before Winter Break. Look for our note asking for dontations and help!

On Thursday, the sixth grade Japanese class came in to read us a kamishibai story that they translated from Japanese and illustrated. They also sang us a song about counting in Japanese. We hope to learn the song soon.
