On Monday, June 25, our class went to visit Auntie Margo at the Manoa Heritage Place. She showed us different native Hawaiian plants and took us on a short hike. We also helped her water the kalo plants and worked on a fun art activity using the leaves we collected.
We are so lucky that Manoa Heritage Center is part of our community!

On Friday, June 22, both Kindergarten classes visited the Honolulu Zoo. Students were able to pet the goats, look through a glass carp tank, pretend to be zookeepers, and observe the monkeys, hippos, elephants, and birds.
A big thank you to A.G.'s grandmother for joining us on our zoo adventure!

Aloha! I am so excited to have your child in my summer school class.
We're in our first week of summer school, and our Jump Start Kindergarten students are adjusting to new routines, new friends and teachers, shared ideas, and participation in classroom activities. We're off to a great start!

Our class spent a couple of days exploring and playing with different math manipulatives. Students need this exploration and play time before they are ready for more directed activities with the manipulatives. Some children chose to sort buttons and unifix cubes, while others engaged in pretend play with the counting bears.
