Mid-Pacific Institute's Middle School program was specifically designed with thoughtful consideration of the unique needs of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The Middle School program was intended to support all students as they transition from the elementary school to the secondary education program. We recognize that students at this age are not passive learners. Consequently, they require learning environments that partner experience with lecturing. Science is typically taught through experiments and labs, Art through action, and English and Social Studies through discussion and application. Math and Foreign Languages are also taught through discussion and application.
Additionally, success in these disciplines not only focuses on manipulating numbers or performing a series of exercises. It is also critical that our students develop the skills and ability to apply learned concepts to their real life situations. Meaningful and relevant education is our approach.
Middle School students are truly unique and we pride ourselves in offering a program that offers quality instruction, time, and support to be successful academically. Our students have multiple opportunities to grow intellectually, physically and socially, and to develop a sense of academic and personal commitment to their education. Our instructional program emphasizes a balanced, standards-based approach to learning. Our faculty and staff are a dedicated team committed to creating an environment where both students and parents feel a personal connection that fosters success as a learning community. We value the very important role that each individual contributes to the success of our students.
The Mid-Pacific Institute environment and culture is a place where our students are afforded endless opportunities to learn and thrive. Our students are strongly encouraged to actively participate not just academically, but also in areas of community service. I am confident that many of our students will choose to become lifelong learners and remain outstanding citizens.
